Anders Kampmann

ABOUT 

Danish tenor Anders Kampmann pursued his musical education at The Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, as well as at The Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. Initially, he began his career performing baritone repertoire but eventually transformed his voice into a full-bodied and expressive tenor.

Anders recently earned third place at the Lauritz Melchior International Singing Competition, marking a significant milestone in his career.

His operatic roles include Sándor Barinkay in ‘Der Zigeunerbaron’ by Johann Strauss at Theater Magdeburg, Jennaro in ‘Ravnen’ by Hartmann at the Danish National Opera, Canio in Leoncavallo's I Pagliacci, and Turiddu in Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni at Elsinore Chamber Opera. He has portrayed Siegmund and both Siegfrieds in The Ring in One Evening (music by Richard Wagner) on the same stage.

A regular performer at The Royal Opera House in Copenhagen, Anders has recently appeared in productions such as ‘Den Glade Enke 2.0’ (The Merry Widow) by Franz Lehár, ‘King and Marshall’ (music by Heise), and ‘Manualen’ by Louise Alenius. He frequently performs as a soloist in major works including Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s Die Schöpfung, Handel’s The Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem, and Puccini’s Messa di Gloria, collaborating with leading orchestras such as the Copenhagen Philharmonic, Aarhus Symphony, Odense Symphony, and Sønderjyllands Symphony Orchestras.

In the 2024/2025 season, Anders will perform the roles of Pinkerton in Puccini's Madama Butterfly and Count René de la Rochefocauld in Schierbeck’s Fête Galante at the Danish National Opera, Danilo in Die Lustige Witwe at The Royal Opera House, Copenhagen, as well as Siegfried in Götterdämmerung as a part of the Esbjerg Ring Cycle.
